This last week has been pretty crazy and I really wasn't able to make it on here much to update. My diet and exercise has also been significantly lacking for the month of march and I'm starting to feel sluggish. It's amazing how your body adapts to a healthy lifestyle and then almost revolts when you go back to your old ways. It's really no way to live.Well, this morning I woke up with refreshed outlook and am ready to get back into the swing of things. You know, it would be very easy to just quit and give up now but that's not what I'm going to do. I'm going to accomplish my goals and get down to sub-8% body fat.
Today, and for the rest of the week, I've made a covenant with myself to let nothing touch my lips that is not planned. I will also hit the gym 5 days this week. I'm not going to let the last 5 months of hard work go down the drain.
For those of you who have been following my progress, I apologize. I have completely slacked off for the past 10 days and I'm sure I have let some of you down. Well, I'm back now. I will be posting progress pictures tomorrow and weekly pictures from here on out. I will continue posting to my food logs and weekly stats pages. I will continue taking my body fat measurements with my Digital Body Fat Calipers. I will continue to post at the Scotty's Body Forums. I WILL ACCOMPLISH MY GOALS.
I'm back!!!

Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting the same question a lot via email. It usually goes something like this...I've been checking out your site and your progress is really great. I, too, started my own transformation around the same time as you but my results just aren't on par with you. How do you do it? I have the diet and exercise part down but how do you stay motivated?
The above example sums up about 25% of the email I receive daily. Now, don't get me wrong. I love receiving email from you guys and will continue to answer it personally for as long as I possibly can. But for this question, I'm going to try to answer it here.
So how do I stay motivated? It's simple, really. I attribute it to doing the right thing the majority of the time. Look at my food logs and you'll see that I occasionally fall off the wagon but I don't really let it phase me. If I give into temptation and go to Jack-In-The-Box or McDonald's, the next day I'm back to eating oats, broccoli, and chicken. I don't beat myself up when I fall off the wagon and I make sure to get back on the wagon ASAP. I find myself eating very healthy the majority of the time.
If I miss a workout or two, it's not the end of the world. I just make sure I go the next day and hit it just as hard. Missing a workout is not the end of the world, just don't make a habit out of it. Make a habit out of going to the gym. If you do this you'll be successful.
I hope this helps motivate some people. I know it's easy to beat yourself up and consider giving up when you eat bad or miss a workout. Just put it behind you and keep going. Doing the right thing the majority of the time will pay off and you WILL achieve the results you're looking for.

I've been a bit slow on updating the site lately. We've had a lot going on lately and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Tomorrow I will be leaving town as my wife's grandmother is not doing well and we are going to visit her.Luckily, my diet and training has been doing good. I will try to post a more detailed update tomorrow. Until then, I'm going to sign off and get to bed. As always, thanks for visiting the site...Scotty

Regular visitors to this site might notice it's been a couple of days since I've updated the daily blog as I haven't been feeling well at all lately. I haven't been to the gym since Tuesday and I probably won't go today. It seems I've picked up this spring cold/flu and it's left me feeling pretty miserable. Although I'm feeling noticeably better this morning, I think one more day of rest will be good.Yesterday, I posted new weekly pics. I don't see too much difference over the last couple of weeks but it could be that I'm just so used to seeing them. The most recent pictures were taken at 163.8 lbs. and 9.9% body fat. I still have quite a ways to go on this initial fat loss stage to achieve the look I'm going for. March will need to be a very disciplined month if I'm going to hit my goal by April 15th. I'm excited to get over this cold so I can start hitting the weights and cardio with 100% intensity.
I've been getting a lot of questions via email lately and I noticed I get the same question quite frequently. "How tall are your?" Well, I'm 5 feet 10 inches tall. So, there you have it. I will also update the FAQ with this info.
I hope you all have a great Saturday. I'm going to rest up and hopefully I'll be back in the gym tomorrow. Talk to you soon.
